Activities in Heidelberg - Recommendations for Your Stay

Heidelberg is easy to explore on foot. Thanks to the central location of the BS Boutique Hotel Heidelberg in Neuenheim, you can reach many of the main sights and recreational areas comfortably on foot. The city offers a wide range of historical, cultural, and nature-based experiences – here is a small selection of activities for your stay.

Heidelberg Castle

The castle is one of the city's most famous landmarks and can be reached via the mountain railway or a footpath from the Kornmarkt. It offers views over the Neckar valley and insights into the history of the Electoral Palatinate. The German Pharmacy Museum is located in the courtyard.

#

Old Town & Main Street

The Old Town starts right at the banks of the Neckar and stretches along the Main Street. Numerous small shops, bookstores, cafés, and historic buildings shape the cityscape. The entire Old Town is car-free and very walkable.

#

Old Bridge

The Karl-Theodor Bridge, commonly known as the “Old Bridge,” connects the Old Town with Neuenheim. From here you have a direct view of the castle. The walk from the hotel to the bridge takes just a few minutes.

#

Philosophers' Walk

The ascent to the Philosophers' Walk begins right near the BS Boutique Hotel. The path runs along the hillside with views over the river, city, and castle. Especially in the morning or early evening, the trail is quiet and easy to walk.

#

Königstuhl & Mountain Railway

The mountain railway starts in the Old Town and leads past the castle to the Königstuhl. At the top, there are hiking trails, a viewing platform, and seasonal attractions such as the Märchenparadies park for families.
